Pastor Ed Barrus was one of a kind, a man of God whom God used is various ways to bring light and hope to the lost. It was my privilege and joy to have a friend such as he! Having had many of his children in school, our history goes back decades. In all those years I cannot remember Bro. Barrus complaining or having any negative reports. Bro. Ed was so upbeat and what a sense of humor. I recall something like his sharing the source of his youth: “The 3rd aisle of Walgreens, the 4th row down – Grecian Formula!” It was so refreshing to see a blend of his sense of humor and the seriousness with which he approached the pulpit ministry and his reaching of souls. Ed, I’ll see you again! As Joseph Clark wrote in his poem “Thank God for You.” Some day I hope with you to stand Before the throne, at God’s right hand; And to say to you- at journey’s end: ‘Praise God, you’ve been to me a friend.’ “THANK GOD FOR YOU!”
